The Ortur LM3 is significantly better than the previous model (LM2). I was engraving items for the holiday season in early December with the LM2. Orders were coming in faster than I could keep up with, so I purchased this LM3 and WOW! Engravings that were previously taking me about 24 minutes were now finishing in 5 minutes with better quality. This machine is significantly better at cutting as well again speeding up the completion time at least 3 fold. Easy to assemble; I had it out of the box and in service in about 2 hours. Great amateur laser diode engraving machine!

Easy to assemble, but watch the official Ortur assembly videos. Avoid Youtube reviews for assembly advice. They all either skipped over or didn’t understand the proper procedure to install and tension the drive belts. I did use the Diode laser to cut the plastic perfectly square to the Laser Master 3. The parts were cut from .118 thick and took three passes at 100% power and 5% speed.

Great little machine. There is definitely a learning curve.This is a fabulous machine. Of course there were startup issues. The assembly instructions weren’t great but other customers have created excellent videos. Getting the cables right is the key. The software is just LightBurn , excellent software. Be patient the software for a newbie is complicated. Use YouTube for tutorials become a member of the Cutting wood is tricky for a blue diode laser I don’t plan to do any cutting it requires thin wood and multiple passes. But you can cutout paper & cardboard. The laser glasses that come with it are cheap. I need laser glasses that fit over my prescription glasses. I changed my rating from4 stars to 5. This is a great little Machine.

Great!! Better than a starter laser. 400x430mm workable area. Pretty easy to assemble if you can read instructions and work basic tools. I did try the free software that came with it, Quality materials, Very accurate out of the box after setup. Completed one project so far and looking to keep learning on it. I did build a dedicated cart with a 3/4 MDF surface with power strip, and bolted down LED light. I also bought a blower motor from Amazon and hooked it up to a table top dust extractor hood to help vent any smoke (It’s actually very little and way less than expected). Overall extremely happy, I was satisfied enough I went and bought the YAxis cylinder attachment for even more projects.

the Ortur is actually one of the easiest entry laser engravers on the market. The diode laser that is used is incredibly accurate and gives a wide range of tint and burn. The X and Y axis are extremely smooth and extremely mobile in comparison to the stepper motors on 3d printers, providing almost unbelievable speed when engraving! The setup was flawless, and whilst i am writing this, I cannot find anything I could consider wrong about this machine. It truly is a beast on paper as well as a beast in action, and I can’t wait to get some more projects going!
