I have another honeycomb bed already, but extended my laser and wanted a second one. I didn’t realize until the box showed up that this one is STEEL, and not aluminum like a lot of the ones on here. The weight is what made me finally notice. This weighs twice what the other one does. Fortunately, they are the same height so they are level when used at the same time.Steel is going to be a better choice for a couple of reasons:1. That extra weight makes it less likely to shift on your work surface. It has rubber feet and combined with the weight it stays put unless you intentionally move it.2. MAGNETIC! This means you can use magnets to hold down things in place, such as when cutting thin materials. Huge bonus.3. Durability. If you are cutting materials, the top of the fins always takes a bit of wear as well. The heavier steel will hold up longer before your laser makes a mess of it. And if you are using a diode laser, like me, there is no way it will even touch the steel so this will last forever.

I purchased this enclosure for my 20 watt, SCULPFUN s30
prop Easily assembled and quite sturdy. I have a suggestion for attaching
a vent tube to the exhaust fixture is a perfect connector. Advise using a can
opener that makes a clean cut to avoid sharp edges. I used a Dremel tool to
open the bottom of the can. I used electrical tape to attach the vent tube.
It’s a perfect and snug fit over the enclosure vent.

The construction materials are high quality as is the assembly of this honeycomb laser bed. Because the honeycomb is steel you can use strong magnets to hold your project in position. Just put several strong rectangular (or round) magnets pushed up against the edges of your project. You can also put some in the corners to make sure it lays flat.The included aluminum base plate protects your work surface while also dissipating heat rapidly. The honeycomb holds your work up off of a solid surface and helps to dissipate heat which makes for sharp edges and little to no scorching or burning along the cuts. It’s also easier to ventilate smoke.

This is a must have accessory for any standard laser cutter. I have been using a smaller one for years but it did have limitations. This bed fits my entire frame and cover. Being magnetic allows you to use magnets to help hold your pieces in place. You will definitely notice the difference when you cut on a honeycomb and when you cut without one.
