I have never used a laser engraver before. But I have a very strong IT background, so figuring out the software was not too difficult for me. I found a ton of tutorial videos online. Some I watched before it arrived, some I watched as I ran into problems.This arrived disassembled. The assembly took about 30 minutes, and even though it was a little complex, they provided some EXCELLENT instructions. In fact, I have to say that the assembly instructions are by far the best, most complete and comprehensive I have ever worked with.By using the tutorials I found online, I was able to do a grayscale picture burn to a piece of wood. I had my first attempt completed within 5 hours of the machines arrival at my door. I have attached my first attempt to this review. Even though I have no experience doing this, I was able to get an image etched into wood that is recognizable. Even my wife was impressed. 🙂 I have to admit that I did have several oop’s pieces of wood before I got it right, and I will get better at this as I learn more. The next day, I did the skull. So far, the learning curve has not been bad for me.I am VERY happy with this engraver. I am giving it 5 stars!
